The 243-suite SpringHill Suites and TownePlace Suites property opened in 2024. Its latest chapter brings a new hotel operator to one of Avon’s largest lodging complexes.
Crestline Hotels & Resorts has been selected by JMA Ventures to manage Avon’s dual-brand SpringHill Suites and TownePlace Suites by Marriott.
The two hotels share a property at 1782 Swift Gulch Road, near Interstate 70 and between Vail and Beaver Creek. Together, they contain 243 suites: 116 at SpringHill Suites and 127 at TownePlace Suites.
The management announcement is the current news. The hotel itself opened on June 25, 2024, and remains owned by San Francisco-based real estate investment and development firm JMA Ventures. Crestline’s appointment represents an operating change—not a sale of the real estate.
Two Marriott Brands Under One Roof
The dual-brand format gives the property two distinct ways to serve the Vail Valley visitor market. SpringHill Suites offers king and queen suites designed for shorter leisure and business stays. TownePlace Suites focuses more heavily on extended stays, with studio and one-bedroom suites that include sitting areas and fully equipped kitchens.
Shared amenities include complimentary breakfast, Corduroy Bar and Bites, approximately 1,515 square feet of meeting and event space across three venues, a 24-hour fitness center, an outdoor heated pool and whirlpool, and pet-friendly accommodations. Marriott also advertises winter courtesy shuttle service to Vail and Beaver Creek, nearby local bus service, and on-property electric-bike rentals.

Why It Matters to Avon and the Vail Valley
A 243-suite property is a meaningful addition to the valley’s lodging inventory. The two-brand approach reaches guests at different price points and accommodates both shorter mountain vacations and longer stays—an increasingly useful mix in a destination working to strengthen year-round visitation.
More room inventory can support local restaurants, retailers, recreation providers and events, while the extended-stay component provides another option for project teams, seasonal business travel and families who want kitchen facilities. Its location near I-70 also creates a practical base for visitors splitting their time between Beaver Creek, Avon and Vail.
For real estate observers, hotel openings and management changes are not direct measures of residential values. They are, however, useful signals of institutional interest, visitor demand and continued investment in the resort corridor. Crestline’s arrival adds another established national operator to the local hospitality market.
The news also complements the Journal’s continuing coverage of hotel capital and operations in Eagle County, including the $176 million sale of the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek. In that transaction, ownership changed. Here, JMA Ventures remains the owner while Crestline assumes hotel management.
Different deal, different market segment—but both underscore the scale and sophistication of hospitality investment across the Vail Valley.
